Why is perfume so expensive?

I was just wondering what makes women and men perfumes so expensive like 70 dollars for a bottle. what do they put in it that cost so much or its just the brand?Why is perfume so expensive?
It takes a lot to make a perfume. Maybe the proces of production is not so expensive but research that is done before it is put into the production is really costly. And are they really so expensive? Look, a good perfume can be used for a long time as you should apply only a little bit of it. So when you look at how long you can use a bottle it does not look that bad.

It is usually just the brand. People like me who have nothing better to spend money on, will buy it just to smell better then others. :)
I got like 10 bottles, mmmmmmmmmm, good question, yeah they are overprice NOT, i don't one everyone smelling good like me! LOL
